Herein we report the synthesis and characterization of bisimines of ortho-vanillin and iso-vanillin with hydrazine hydrate. Further these bis-imines were used as ligands for the synthesis of metal complexes with transition metals Cu(II), Ni(II), Co(II), Fe(II), Zn(II) Mn(II) and Cd(II). The bis-imines and metal complexes were well characterized and screened for antifungal, antimalarial and antitubercular activities. Bisimines and their transition metal complexes were reported for potential antifungal, antimalarial and antitubercular activities.
